Fantasy map maker
Draw the world your story happens in
Continents, cities and star empires — drawn in Lokee and linked to the characters and places you write about. Free on every plan.
Try the map demoDraw like on paper
Brushes for coastlines, rivers, roads, walls and regions; a fill bucket that fills any closed outline; an eraser that cuts terrain away. Choose an inked or a flat style, a paper texture and a map font, and export to PNG, SVG or JSON.
Your own stamps
Upload a few images — trees, mountains, ruins — as a stamp set and paint with them like any terrain brush, on every map in your vault.
Maps inside maps
A city on your world map can open the city’s own map, and a planet on a star chart can open its world. Each map knows its parent, so moving between them is one click.
From a photo of a hand-drawn map
Photograph a map you drew on paper. Lokee outlines the areas it finds, and you choose how many — from one to the finest split — before anything is charged. AI then names the areas and places the settlements; you review every suggestion, and the photo stays underneath to trace over. AI help comes with Sync, or with your own key in the local app; outlines only, without AI, is free.
Borders that line up
Turn on Snap to borders and a new territory follows its neighbour’s edge exactly. Stick together closes the gaps you already have.
Every place is part of your story
Link a city, a tavern or a kingdom on the map to its card. Characters with a location stand on the map where they are, and the map opens beside your manuscript in the Writer.
Free, and yours
Drawing, stamps, nested maps and exports are free on every plan, including the free local app. Maps are stored with your vault, travel with its exports and restore points, and work offline.
FAQ
Can I use a map I already drew?
Yes. Add it as a base image and draw over it, or let Lokee turn a photo of it into an editable map.
Does it work for science fiction or real-world settings?
Yes. There are presets for worlds, cities and star empires, and every preset offers every tool.
Can I print or share my map?
Export it as PNG or SVG for print and sharing, or as JSON to move it to another vault.
Is the map maker free?
Drawing, stamps, nested maps and exports are free on every plan. AI help with turning a photo into a map uses Sync’s credits, or your own key in the local app.
Can I see my maps on my phone?
Yes. The Android app shows your maps; editing works on a larger screen.
